Authentic learning uses real-life problems to actively engage students in the learning process. I have developed a social studies unit, "Living History", to investigate the impact of authentic learning on fifth and sixth graders studying World War II (WW II). Both personal and professional experiences have sparkled my interest in developing an authentic learning project to help students learn about WW II by integrating personal interviews and technology. The following tells my story of these experiences.
